The First South Western Regional Workshop on Green Campus organized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and International Institute of Waste Management (IIWM) was conducted at Acharya Institutes, Bengaluru on 26th November, 2017. Prof. Anil D. Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE was the Chief Guest for the workshop. The other dignitaries who were present for the workshop were Dr. T. G. Sitharam, Chairman, Regional Committee, South Western Region, AICTE, Dr. R. S. Rathore, Director, New Delhi, Shri. H. U. Talwar, Director of Technical Education, Govt. of Karnataka, Dr. Ramesh Unnikrishnan, Director and Regional Officer, AICTE, South Western Regional Office (SWRO), Bangalore and Shri. B. Premnath Reddy, Hon’ble Chairman, Acharya Institutes, Bangalore. The workshop was inaugurated with lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries present and was preceded by talk of Ms. P. Bineesha, who spoke on the Green Campus Initiative. The workshop concluded by an interactive question and answer session between the participants and the Green Campus team, where the delegates could clarify their doubts regarding Green Campus.
Really exhaustive course touching upon all aspects of Industrial Waste Management especially the compliance part with lectures delivered by sector experts. Very supportive and encouraging in terms of getting the doubts and problems solved.
Since I was from a software industry, managing of waste generated at the office is very important. Through this training, I was able to learn how to manage the waste effectively. Learning about different technologies for treating the waste was very useful. Visit to TSDF site was good practical exposure. Thank you for the program. It was organized in a very good way.
