Water Conservation and Rainwater Harvesting - Udupi

Event Details

The International Institute of Waste Management (IIWM) organised a two day training-cum-workshop on "Water Security and Sustainability Issues" on 22nd and 23rd August, 2016 at Udupi District, Karnataka, as part of the Key Resource Centre Workshops – 2016. It was supported by the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Government of India, New Delhi.

The workshop was intended for engineers from Karnataka Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Board, Udupi District, technical engineers monitoring MNREGA Scheme, engineers from Karnataka Neeravari Nigam Limited and engineers from Panchayat Raj Engineering Department and was attended by 46 participants.

The aim of this training-cum-workshop was to:
  • Equip the trainees intellectually and professionally for carrying out the assigned responsibilities in an effective and sustainable manner, for ensuring safe drinking water in the villages
  • Keep personnel up-to-date on the new technologies, systems and innovations with respect to water sector
  • Promote attitudinal reorientation in line with emerging issues and challenges
