Capacity Building Training on Bio Medical & Plastic Waste Management

International Institute of Waste Management (IIWM) and Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board (MPPCB), Gwalior jointly organized a One day Capacity building training on “Bio-medical & Plastic Waste Management” on 26th February 2017 at Hotel Landmark NX, Gwalior, which may prove to be important in developing regional approach to biomedical & plastic waste management. The target participants were the medical personnel’s, paramedical staff and plastic material manufacturer. A total of 80 participants attended this programme.

Objectives:
  • Provide guidelines to the healthcare system on the opportunities for waste minimization and the reduction of air contamination from incineration of biomedical waste.
  • Providing knowledge about strategies and appropriate handling techniques for biomedical waste management
  • Create awareness with focus on new biomedical waste management rules and guidelines 2016 related to health care safety issues related with disposal of biomedical wastes
  • Understanding the new technologies available for safe disposal of biomedical wastes from environment friendliness point of view and infection control in hospitals
  • Create awareness with focus on new Rules and Regulation Plastic waste Management
  • Knowledge on new technologies developed for safe disposal of plastic waste
